Excerpt From Jaci's Guestbook

.... The Nare Suite is fantastic! We saw elephants from our bedroom and amazing birds flying past our room. Words cannot really do this little bit of paradise justice, apart from the Lodge and the game, we hope to have told you that it is the people who make it somewhere we will always want to return to .....

Accommodation at Jaci's Lodges

Main Lodge  •  Safari Lodge  •  Tree Lodge  •  Exclusive Nare Suite

Main Lodge

Jaci's is situated at an ideal spot overlooking an established and well used watering hole, under a grove of Tambotie trees, near the banks of the Marico River. The Main Lodge is a spacious open plan design, curved around an ancient termite mound, and masterfully blends into the magnificent surroundings. The interiors reflect Jaci's unique style and attention to detail. Our delicious meals come from our ultra modern open plan kitchen. Dinners are eaten outside in the boma under the stars or out in the bush at a braai surrounded by nature in all her magnificence. Upstairs there is a quiet reading space. There is also a well-stocked ethnic craft shop. Rates include all meals and two game activities per day, tea and coffee, house drinks and laundry.

Jaci's Safari Lodge

Jaci's Safari Lodge has eight thatched rooms, each with en-suite bathroom and magnificent outside shower. Six of the rooms have twin beds and the other two have a king size four poster bed. Each room has
a hand made ceramic fireplace surrounded by a stone chimney. The deck in front of the room allows you to sit and enjoy the surrounding sights and smells of the bush veldt - whilst watching the animals walking past to drink. The walls in the bathroom are built using natural rock and the bath was constructed on site. In order to create a "tented feel" the rooms have canvas sides. Children sharing with their parents are comfortably accommodated on camping stretchers in the rooms.

Jacis Tree Lodge

Jaci's Tree Lodge has 8 "Tree Houses", each encompassing a giant Tamboetie or Leadwood Tree. Each “Tree House” is constructed amongst the Riverine forest on stilts, up to 4 meters from the ground.
In these spacious “Tree Houses” – built utilising a combination of rosewood, thatch and stacking doors - the forest surrounds are invited in, to compliment your stay with us. An open plan, en-suite bathroom with an enormous stone bath and outdoor “Jungle Shower” allow you to enjoy your forest surrounds. Relax, on the deck in front of your room, in the main lodge or wander to the forest pool to cool off. Raised wooden walkways link all the rooms to the main lodge.

Jacis Nare Suite

This exciting and exclusive addition to Jaci’s is an exclusive “bush retreat”- so named because of the resident Buffalo Bull who frequents the waterhole in front of the Suite (along with the numerous other animal visitors). The Nare Suite accommodates a maximum of 4 guests in 2 seperate bedrooms.

The Jaci's Nare Suite bedrooms each have open plan bathrooms, with a hand made “rock” bath and outdoor “safari” shower. A wooden viewing deck overlooks a fabulous water hole and encompasses a private swimming pool. The lounge and outdoor dining area, overlook a wooden viewing deck and an active water hole. Equipped with a self contained kitchen – our chefs can prepare meals for you in the luxury of your own retreat. A private game vehicle and professional guide you are assured of a bush breakaway to be remembered and repeated.

Attractions and Activities at Jaci's Lodges

Between the early morning and evening game drives and walks, there is a cool swimming pool overlooking the river. Paddle your own canoe, lie in a hammock, sip an ice-cold drink, watch the birds, the butterflies and beasts, relax, unwind. The day, the place, the ambience are yours, in peace.

Excerpt From Jaci's Newsletter

During the starlight dinner at Tree Lodge last night I walked to the hide and found a small group of Elephants drinking, what a privilege to sit in the hide and watch them - they were totally unaware of my presence. The group stayed on the edge just to the left of the hide about 10 meters away from me - I could hear the water gurgling all they way down into their stomachs, the whooshing of wind and scratching of skin as they moved around and flapped their ears - all in all just fabulous. A moment to treasure.

Children of all ages are welcome at Jaci's. Children aged 12 and under are comfortably accommodated in their parents' room on their own stretcher. Children aged 7 years and under are taken on their own Game Drive during the day by one of our rangers - this is a kiddie's drive and is geared totally to the children's interests and age level. We provide an earlier evening meal at 18:00 for the "littlies" as we do not allow children in the boma for the evening meal.

Baby sitters are provided to look after the "littlies" while the parents are on the Game Activities. Children aged 8 to 12 on the Game Drives with their parents are also given an earlier dinner in the dining room, when they return from the Game Drive. We find this works very well as children are hungry and tired by the time we serve and eat dinner. The Game Reserve does not allow children under the age of 12 to do walks inside the Reserve.

Wedding ceremonies at Jaci's lodges

At Jaci's we assist you in planning the perfect day, providing outstanding venues, complete with a team of people to ensure your special day is hassle free. Jaci's have catered for several weddings from 80 to 5 guests, each created around the individual needs of the wedding couple. Our wedding package includes our usual daily activities and meals. The extra details (flowers, pastor, photographer, etc.) are privately arranged and we can assist once everything is at the lodge.
